         Here is where you can

Save a tonne, Save a life.

The costs of the various solar cookers that are sold and used around the world vary a great deal. One popular model costs only five dollars, whereas others with a much longer usable lifespan can cost over two hundred dollars. The costs of delivering the technology effectively (training, follow-up, transportation, etc.) also vary.

After years of following projects around the world and our own direct experience, the Kyoto Twist Solar Cooking Society has chosen an average cost based on a unit of measure we call a “Family Solar Cooking Year”. It happens that this $10.00 figure coincides with the cost we quote for reducing a tonne of emissions with a solar cooker. This amount also gives us a benchmark for evaluating the cost effectiveness of the projects we are considering for funding.

We want to thank you in advance for your donation and support.

Here is how your money will be put to work:

$10.00 donation = 1 Family solar cooking year & 1 tonne of emissions saved

$50.00 donation = 5 Family solar cooking years & 5 tonnes of emissions saved

$100 donation = 10 Family solar cooking years & 10 tonnes of emissions saved

$1,000 donation = 100 Family solar cooking years & 100 tonnes of emissions saved

$10.00 /month = 12 Family solar cooking years & 12 tonnes of emissions saved

$20.00 /month = 24 Family solar cooking years & 24 tonnes of emissions saved
